All docents go through an intensive 14-week training program before giving their first tour. Once they have graduated from the training program, they continue the learning process by reading books and scientific articles, and attending formal classes and lectures that are relevant to the Museum's changing exhibits. Docents offer a valuable service to the Museum and its visitors.
If you are interested in continuing education, and would like to give tours to groups of all ages in the Museum, then maybe being a Docent is for you. An exciting 14-week training program begins in late August. Registration takes place August 4 through the 15th. Sign up early to get a head start on the reading and pre-training assignments.
