As both a college-level division of Montana State University and an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit institution the Museum and its Board of Trustees must raise two-thirds of the Museum’s annual budget through a combination of earned revenues and support from gifts and grants.
There are many ways to give to the Museum of the Rockies, with many benefits and privileges available to you in thanks for your generosity. Your donation to the Museum is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Donations are separate from Museum memberships and both are essential to our operations.
As we look to the future, we want to thank all of you who have helped us achieve this profound success. We hope you’ll stay interested, involved, and supportive as we forge ahead.
Do your spring cleaning, support the Museum of the Rockies, and get a tax benefit.
As you dig into your closets, take your treasures to Suburban Surplus. They will sell them for you on eBay and donate the proceeds to the Museum. It’s quick, convenient, and confidential.
How it works
- Bring in your items with a value of at least $100
- They’ll look up comparable items using their research tools to determine the approximate eBay value
- If the values look good, they’ll take the items and give you a receipt
- They’ll sell the items on eBay and send the Museum a check
