Museum of the Rockies welcomes all students, including preschool, kindergarten through twelfth grades, and university students for free in-person field trips. In addition, MOR continues to offer special program days for homeschool students. Free admission and partial bus reimbursement continue thanks to generous donations to the Opening Doors for Montana Schoolchildren Fund.
Schools may visit for traditional field trips, or teachers may invite students to visit independently by submitting a class roster to the museum. There is also information below about visits for homeschool students.
In addition to field trips, we encourage you to explore our free and sortable Online Learning Resources. Find and use videos, lessons, activities, digital collections, and exhibits, and much more available to support your class curriculum! We are also hosting monthly livestream events and would like your class to join us. Check back often as we continue to build our new online learning platform to bring the museum’s exhibits, collections, and programs to you.
To learn about the museum's hours of operation and visitation policies, please read our helpful information on the Plan Your Visit page.
Please contact our education staff at visitMOR@montana.edu to discuss ways we can support students and educators during this time. We are here to support you!
