Dan was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and moved to Bozeman with his family during the summer of 1988 when 2/3rds of Yellowstone National Park was on fire. With heavy snows and bitter cold that winter, Montana would not make the transition an easy one! Challenges aside, Dan would quickly grow to love the hiking, camping, skiing, climbing, & biking that Montana provides and would commit any free time he had to the pursuit of all things outdoors.
Dan attended Montana State University and earned a bachelor's degree in music performance and a bachelor's degree in education. While in college, he held numerous customer service and management positions within the local restaurant industry. Dan used his passion for teaching and influencing others by mentoring co-workers and improving each business' operations to ensure success.
Being raised in Bozeman, Dan had a deep appreciation for his home museum and happily joined the Museum of the Rockies in 2017. He thrives on his opportunity to positively impacts visitors, students, and co-workers alike through his role as the visitor services manager. Dan is grateful for the opportunity to work for such a world-class institution and looks forward to seeing you during your next visit.
