Kathryn serves as director of philanthropy at Museum of the Rockies, where she has worked since 2015. In that capacity, she directs the museum’s fundraising programs, overseeing work in membership, benefit events, major giving, grant funding, and planned giving. In Montana, Kathryn has also worked as a fundraiser for Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter and the American Red Cross of Montana. For more than a decade, Kathryn was a lobbyist for the Sierra Club in Washington, D.C., where she was director of environmental quality programs, running national campaigns on clean water, clean air, and toxic waste.
Kathryn began her career as a writer. While at Miller Publishing Company, she edited Hog Farm Management Magazine. In that capacity, she coined the slogan, Pork: The Other White Meat! Kathryn is the author of many online, magazine, and newspaper articles. She is co-author of Why We Ride, an anthology on women and horses, and a textbook on public policy, Global Warming, Natural Hazards, and Emergency Management.
Kathryn enjoys Nordic skiing, trail running, and dog training.
