Join us to celebrate one of nature’s most fascinating creatures: Ants! Explore the hidden world of these tiny social insects with ant expert and MSU alum Miles Maxcer. Learn about ant behavior and ecology, ant superpowers, and what the movie Ant-Man gets right (and what it gets wrong!) through a family-friendly talk. Snack on a crunchy treat made of ants and enjoy a screening of the Marvel movie Ant-Man. This program complements the exhibit Marvelocity: The Art of Alex Ross.

About Miles Maxcer
Miles studies the little things that run our world – ants! He is an insect ecologist, science communicator, and public policy optimist. Having kept ants as pets for over a decade, Miles has become a world expert on the rearing of live ant colonies, and he is the Founder and Director of The Ant Network and Trapjaw Science Communications. Currently a Ph.D. student & NSF Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Florida’s Department of Entomology and Nematology, Miles earned his B.S. in Directed Interdisciplinary Studies at Montana State University.
