Rocky Rex's Roasts, a small cafe with a dinosaurs bite!

Museum of the Rockies is pleased to announce the winners of last fall’s community contest to name the museum’s new café. After receiving a wide range of creative submissions, the museum selected Rocky Rex’s Roasts as the official name for its new café, which will open in June.

Community members of all ages participated, and the museum selected four individuals whose ideas helped shape the café’s final name.

  • Winner: Cora Kamerman (up to age 12 category) with "Rocky Rex’s Cafe.” Cora will receive a $100 gift card to the new café. The name captures the spirit of both the museum’s beloved T. rex mascot and the café’s coffee-focused atmosphere.
  • Runners-Up: Cade Warren (up to age 12) with "The Rocky Rex Cafe" and Colleen Conrad (age 65+) with "Rocky Rex Café.” Both runners-up will receive a $25 gift card to Rocky Rex’s Roasts.
  • Honorable Mention: Arison Caruana (age 13–17) with "RaptorRoast." Arison will receive exclusive Rocky Rex’s Roasts café merchandise.

“We were blown away by the creativity and enthusiasm of all our participants and their 300-plus entries,” said Alicia Harvey, director of marketing at Museum of the Rockies. “Our community’s passion for dinosaurs and great coffee came through in every entry. We are proud to have a name representing the museum’s mascot and the welcoming space we are creating.”

Rocky Rex’s Roasts will offer a variety of Bozeman’s Yellowstone Coffee Roasters coffee, specialty drinks, grab-and-go sandwiches and salads, pastries, ice cream and snacks, providing museum visitors with a place to relax and recharge.
