Your membership is active until the last day of the month one year from the date you join. If you renew your membership before it expires, your membership will be extended twelve (12) months from the current expiration date.

MOR is happy to announce that members now have the option of signing up for automatic renewals when purchasing or renewing a membership.

Yes! Gift memberships are available. The "Gift A Membership" option presents itself after you select the membership level you you like to gift.

Yes! A family membership can be purchased for the two adults in your household plus your grandchildren when they are visiting the museum with you.

For admission to the museum, the caregiver's name must be on the membership. If there are already two adults on the account, a caregiver can be added as an "additional adult" and visit the museum with the children. The caregiver will be asked to show their digital membership card and ID upon check in so staff can verify that they are a paid adult on the membership.

As of January 1, 2026, Museum of the Rockies is no longer printing plastic membership cards. Please refer to the first FAQ titled "How do I access my Digital Membership Card?".

Yes! You can use your membership for free or reduced admission at up to 360 participating museums through the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) Passport Program! Your MOR membership may not be used at ASTC Passport Program participating museums located within 90 linear miles of Museum of the Rockies. Learn more about the ASTC Passport Program here.

• I am an ExplorationWorks member; do I get in free at Museum of the Rockies? No. ExplorationWorks members will unfortunately no longer receive free admission to the Museum of the Rockies. As of January 1, 2024, Museum of the Rockies will discontinue its reciprocal member benefit for ExplorationWorks members. Members who are visiting Bozeman will receive a 20% discount at Museum of the Rockies.
• I am a Museum of the Rockies Member; do I get in free to ExplorationWorks? ExplorationWorks will offer a 20% discount on their daily admission rate for tourists visiting Helena who have a Museum of the Rockies membership. Helena-area residents must have an ExplorationWorks membership to receive free admission at ExplorationWorks.

Your membership is non-transferable and non-refundable. You can, however, continue to use your ASTC reciprocal benefits for the remainder of your membership year!

While memberships are non-transferable and intended for the named cardholders, we would love to welcome your guests when a general admission ticket is purchased at the front desk.

As part of the ASTC Travel Passport Program, Museum of the Rockies brings an added benefit to its Members! Your MOR Membership gives you free general admission when you travel outside of your local area to more than 378 other ASTC museums and science centers around the country.

Before You Travel:

• Make sure the science center or museum you are visiting is not excluded. Visit astc.org for a complete list of the more than the 378 participating museums and science centers.
• Review that science center or museum’s family admittance policy. Download the list of participating venues at astc.org and call before you visit to confirm your Passport Program benefits.
• Pack your ID (or other proof of residence). Admissions staff reserve the right to request proof of residence for benefits to apply. Science centers and museums requesting proof of residence are marked by (IDs).
• Pack your membership card. Participating venues are not required to grant benefits to visitors who forget their cards. There is no universal database with all Passport Program visitors’ member data and expiration dates for admission staff to reference. Some venues will allow you to call the science center or museum you joined to confirm your membership, but they are under no obligation to do so. Lost your card? Please contact MOR for a replacement. ASTC does not issue or administer membership cards.

Exclusions:

1. Science centers & museums located within 90 liner miles of the science center or museum where you are a member.
2. Science centers & museums located within 90 linear miles of your residence.

MOR honors the ASTC Passport program by providing free admission to individuals included on the visitor’s active membership at their home institution. For example:

• If the visitor has an active Individual membership (one adult), MOR will provide free admission for one adult.
• If the visitor has an active Family membership, MOR will provide free admission for those who would be included under MOR’s Family membership, which currently includes two adults and all children under the age of 18.
