Attention parents of children entering 1st to 12th grade in Fall 2025!
Join Museum of the Rockies' engaging STEAM-themed summer camps, where your children will dive into paleontology, history, natural sciences, art, physics, and more! They will learn from passionate instructors and museum experts while staying active, making friends, exploring exhibits, enjoying the outdoors, and creating unforgettable memories.

2025 Summer Camp Descriptions

You do not need to be an artist for MOR’s art–specific summer camp! Projects will be inspired by our exhibits and collections, including paleo art, modeling, watercolor, chemical reactions, and more. Let us unleash our creativity and put the A in STEAM education.
Grades 1 – 2, 3 – 5, 6 – 8

Calling all space explorers! Join us on a thrilling journey beyond our planet to explore the inner workings of rockets. Then, discover the secrets of our neighboring planets and even guide yourself through the stars of our galaxy. Grades 1 – 2, 3 – 5

Look out! If it is flung, shot, launched, or thrown, it’s BALLISTIC! We will have an explosive time with spears, arrows, rocks, rockets (and potatoes?) in this exciting physics-based summer camp with plenty of hands-on projects.
Grades 1 – 2, 3 – 5

Explore the varied history and diverse ecosystems of Yellowstone National Park! Meet the extremophiles, thermal features, and variety of flora and fauna that cover Yellowstone’s 2.2 million acres. Learn hands-on about ecology and the natural resources of Yellowstone’s past and present through hands-on games and crafts. Then brave the wilds on a trip to Yellowstone, the nation’s first national park!

Grades 1 – 2, 3 – 5

Calling all future paleontologists! Spend a week at Museum of the Rockies immersed in learning about the museum’s world-class dino discoveries and learn the skills it takes to become a paleontologist. Engage with experts and travel to a nearby fossil site to explore Montana’s incredible geology.
Grades 6 – 8, 9 – 12

What historic hijinks and mysteries lurk in Montana’s past? In this camp, we will discover the stories of Native Americans, gold seekers, fur trappers, and homesteaders through diverse hands-on experiences. Join us to pan for gold, play native games, and try your hand at some settler chores and crafts.
Grades 1 – 2, 3 – 5

Have you ever wondered what it takes to become a paleontologist? How are fossils discovered, prepared, and ultimately displayed for the public to see? Join us for an immersive experience in paleontology, where you will learn about the entire process, from excavating fossils to preparing them for display. Do not miss out on this exciting opportunity to explore the world of paleontology!
Grades 1 – 2, 3 – 5

Travel back to the late 1800s and visit MOR’s Living History Farm. Immerse yourself in the daily activities of the Tinsley family, such as gardening, completing chores, making crafts, and playing pioneer games.
Grades 1 – 2, 3 – 5, 6 – 8

Is it science, pseudoscience, or movie magic? How can you tell if something is real or not? Explore strange topics like UFOs and aliens, Loch Ness monsters, and even look for Sasquatch while making a short film about our odd experiences. Grades 1 – 2, 3 – 5

Experience a bit of everything that Museum of the Rockies has to offer! Each day, we will dabble in a different topic – paleontology, space, history, engineering, and more, featuring the best bits and alternative projects from MOR’s favorite camps.
Grades 3 – 5
