The 220-seat Hager Auditorium features a smart podium, giant screen, sound system, and Epson LCD projector.
Janke Executive Boardroom is accommodating up to 28 people. It includes a traditional 20-person conference table with upholstered armchairs and eight additional chairs to one side. There is a moveable service bar, a small sink, and a pull-down screen.
A versatile Seminar Room with a beautiful mountain view. There is seating for 18 with variable table and chair configurations.
The presentation-ready Redstart Classroom can be used for classes and seminars as well as receptions and luncheons. There is room for 120 standing, 80 seated lecture, or 60 seated banquet style. There is a sink, and a variety of table and chair options are included.
Meeting spaces are available 9 a.m. to 5 p.m Monday through Friday.
Tours of rental spaces are available Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Site visits can be scheduled with the Facility Rental Manager. Please make an appointment to ensure that the space you are interested in is open for viewing.
Designated spaces in the museum are available for rent by associations and individuals on a space-available basis. MOR does not generally provide space for political or religious events, profit-making activities, fundraisers for other organizations, or any activities that do not align with the museum's mission. If you have questions regarding this policy or to make a reservation, please contact the Facility Rental Manager.
Reservations must be booked a minimum of three weeks in advance of the event. However, we encourage you to reserve your date as soon as possible because available spaces do fill up. A 25% deposit is due upon booking to hold the reservation; the deposit is 100% refundable if a cancellation is made at least 30 days before the event.
All rentals include at least one museum staff member who will act as your host and at least one security guard to ensure the safety of the building and collections. Museum staff will ensure the requested tables, chairs, and equipment are located within the rental space. Please note that the museum does NOT have linens, decorations, dishes, glassware, stemware, etc., available for rent.
Basic custodial services are included in the rental fee, and it is the renter's responsibility to leave rental areas, including the kitchen, if used, in a clean and orderly fashion. MOR staff will provide the renter with a cleaning kit if needed and a checklist at the end of the event. If the areas are not appropriately clean and orderly, a $100/hour cleaning fee will be assessed. Any questions regarding this policy may be directed to the Facility Rental Manager.
No, you may use any catering company. A list of recommended caterers who have worked with the museum in the past is available by contacting the Facility Rental Manager. If the company you select has not worked with the museum before, we require that they meet with the Facility Rental Manager to review the event space and our policies and procedures before your event.
Yes, you are. However, including alcohol in your event requires prior approval; please fill out the online Montana State University Alcohol Request Form, which will automatically be submitted to Montana State University’s Auxiliary Services at least three weeks before your event date. An approved copy of this form must be given to the Facility Rentals Manager.
Alcohol must be supplied, prepared, and served by a licensed bartender under a caterer’s license. MOR does not provide catering or bartending services, but we can recommend businesses in Bozeman that you may hire.
No. The renter must provide all signage, sign holders, promotional items, table linens, dishes, stemware, cutlery, decorations, etc.
Unfortunately, the museum cannot accept any deliveries or shipments. All materials must be brought onsite by your vendors or staff on the day of the event.
Our comprehensive policies and procedures will be included in your contract. The renter must submit a list of all outside vendors to the Facility Rental Manager no later than 30 days before the event to ensure adequate time for coordinating arrival and setup.
The museum permits still and video photography for non-commercial use only in its exhibitions, unless otherwise posted. For the safety of our visitors and collections, the use of tripods, monopods, and selfie sticks is not permitted at any time. Any questions may be directed to the Facility Rental Manager.
The museum provides a 15% discount to Montana State University entities, a 10% discount to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, and varying discount levels depending upon your MOR Business Membership level.
