Member-only Exhibit Opening for MOR’s New Primary Exhibit "Cretaceous Crossroads"

For the first time in over a decade, Museum of the Rockies (MOR) is unveiling a new primary paleontological exhibition. Cretaceous Crossroads will highlight 40 years of MOR’s groundbreaking paleontological fieldwork and research in the Late Cretaceous, Two Medicine, Judith River, and Bearpaw geological formations. Showstoppers in this interactive exhibit will include a mounted Daspletosaurus, Maiasaura, and a large Mosasaurus.

🦖 Schedule of Activities:

  • 5:30 p.m. | Doors open and member check-in
  • 5:45 p.m. | Ribbon Cutting & Welcome Remarks: Kick off the evening with a celebratory ribbon cutting, brief remarks, and sponsor gratitude from museum leadership in front of the new exhibit entrance.
  • 5:45 – 7:30 p.m. | Open Exhibit Time + Sweet Treats: Wrap up the evening with dino-themed desserts in the Bair Lobby and more time to wander through the new exhibit with your fellow members. (All main floor museum exhibits will be open to flow through access both entrances to the Cretaceous Crossroads exhibit.)
  • 6 – 7:30 p.m. | Family Fossil Activities: Our education team will lead hands-on paleontology activities for kids and kids-at-heart.
  • 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. | Cretaceous Crossroads Q&A Session: Join Scott A. Williams, Director of Exhibitions, and Dr. John B. Scannella, the John R. Horner Curator of Paleontology, for a fun and engaging conversation about the research and planning that went into the making and installation of the exhibit.
