Montana's Hidden Fossil Treasure Troves

What secrets does amber hold? Join Carter County Museum's Curator of Paleontology Dr. Nathan Carroll, as he takes you through the swamps and lagoons of the late Cretaceous Period investigating the mysteries of feather evolution. This presentation weaves together the origins of dinosaur flight, exceptional fossil preservation in amber, and how Montana's geologic record has more feathers in it than previously thought.

MOR's Presenting Prehistory: A Paleontology Lecture Series explores recent paleontological findings and current hypotheses as conveyed by scientists who are actively exploring how life on Earth has changed. Discoveries made by paleontologists continue to shed new light on the deep past of the planet and the creatures that arose here.

Free and open to the public in the Hager Auditorium.
Refreshments will be provided post-lecture during the speaker meet-and-greet.
