Museum of the Rockies teaches thousands of students each year on field trips. Our galleries help students learn more about and engage with history, indigenous culture, paleontology, geology, and more.
If you cannot come to us, book a virtual field trip or Curiosity Crate that brings MOR directly to your classroom.
Book now for the 2025–2026 school year. Availability fills quickly, especially from March to May, so early reservations are encouraged.
To bring your class to MOR, please submit a Field Trip Request Form at least 2 weeks in advance. Be sure to have several backup dates ready, and we will respond to your request within a week.

If program cost is a barrier in any way, please reach out directly to visitMOR@montana.edu, and a team member would be more than happy to schedule your experience using the Opening Doors for Montana School Children Fund.
We will send an email with all the details you need for an amazing museum visit! However, you can prepare by making sure you have read the email, understand your itinerary, and have communicated with your chaperones. You can also watch this video.
If you are running more than 5 minutes late, you must call 406.994.2260. When you arrive, check in at the front desk and a team member will greet you!
Take a one-hour tour of MOR guided by a docent. This tour will focus on the highlights of the collection, which showcase and focus on the incredible geology and paleontology of the west.
