JoAnne joined MOR as the museum store manager & buyer in the fall of 2020. She was born in Livingston, Montana, and grew up on a small farm south of Bozeman. It was there she raised a small herd of sheep to finance her college education, and she developed her love of horses. JoAnne has deep family roots in the state’s rural communities and agriculture, and she is passionate about Montana’s landscapes, resources, and the people who call it home
She earned a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Montana State University. JoAnne had a successful career teaching where she was a leader in her field and was invited to give workshops or speaking presentations at the Montana State Teaching conferences and the National Convention of Teachers of Mathematics and Science. She left teaching after 10 years to pursue her dream of becoming an entrepreneur.
JoAnne founded and operated Perspectives, inc., an upscale clothing, accessory, and fine gift boutique in downtown Bozeman. Perspectives was a successful business, and it became an iconic anchor on Main Street. The store was loved and supported by the community and became a return stop for those visiting the area. She owned and operated Perspectives for 20 years.
JoAnne’s career experience has allowed her to live and work in Montana, sharing her compassion, integrity, knowledge, and dedication with others. These qualities, combined with her entrepreneurial skills and education experience, has created an incredible platform for her to develop the Museum Store into a shopping experience where art, history, science, and commerce meet in an engaging, upbeat atmosphere.
A few of JoAnne’s interests and loves include growing her knowledge of fine horsemanship through her horses; spending time with her daughter, her parents, and her dogs; being active in mind and body; gardening and landscaping; unique sterling silver jewelry and handmade cowboy boots; attending concerts especially Jason Aldean and Bob Segar; delicious food, drinks, and conversation with friends; and attending sporting events. Go Bobcats!
JoAnne is a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and The Montana Quarter Horse Association. She is looking forward to pursuing volunteer opportunities with Haven and the Gallatin Valley Land Trust in the future.
