Kelly Shuey

Kelly Shuey
Early Learning Program Coordinator

Kelly grew up in Ovando, MT, a small town in western Montana. Kelly’s family spent many weekends riding horses into the Bob Marshall Wilderness and floating the Blackfoot River.

Kelly graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education. After graduating, she taught in Head Start programs in Ely, Nevada, and Butte, MT, before returning to the university to work at the MSU Child Development Center, the university’s laboratory preschool that serves MSU students, faculty, and community members.

Kelly’s philosophy of early childhood is that children learn best through multisensory play and exploring their environments. She looks forward to supporting programming that allows the youngest learners to explore their interests through authentic objects, hands-on exhibits, and activities. Through thoughtful planning, Kelly hopes to provoke imagination, introduce unknown worlds, and offer unique educational experiences.

Kelly and her husband spend their free time camping, floating Montana rivers, and cheering on the Montana State Bobcats.
