Mathias Rixe
Assistant Planetarium and Auditorium Manager

Rixe was born in Minneapolis, MN, and raised in Merimbula, Australia, and Whidbey Island, WA. They moved to Bozeman in 2019 to attend MSU and graduated in the Spring of 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Anthropology and a minor in Museum Studies. They also attended an archaeological field school through the University of Galway at the Isert Kelly Castle in Co. Galway, Ireland.

Rixe has worked in multiple departments at the museum since 2021, including Visitor Services, Education, and Cultural History, becoming the Taylor Planetarium assistant manager in the Fall of 2023. Rixe has been thrilled to be able to embrace their lifelong passion for space.

Outside of work, they enjoy running tabletop role-playing games (RPGs), camping, and cooking.
