  • Paleo-themed passport activity stations in the exhibit galleries. Some stations will have touchable material, microscope stations, short activities, and stamps for the passport. Participants will include Carter County Museum, Montana Dinosaur Museum, MOR’s Histology Department, MSU’s Dead Lizard’s Society, the Montana Dinosaur Trail, and many more.
  • 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Book signings by Dr. Steve Brusatte, University of Edinburgh, paleontologist and author of The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs and The Rise and Reign of the Mammals, and Anne Brusatte, educator and author of Dugie the Dinosaur.
  • 6 – 7 p.m. Booth and book signings by author and illustrator Ted Rechlin.
  • Many of the weekend’s world-class paleontology guest speakers will be present to meet.
  • A couple viewings of the new Dinosaurs: A Story of Survival planetarium show will premiere to members.
  • 7 p.m. presentation by Michael Serio and unveiling of the newly 3D printed Troodon skeleton. QandA follows.

Join us for an exciting evening filled with fun and learning! You are invited to a dinner event featuring a keynote speaker, Dr. Stephen Brusatte, a renowned paleontologist at the University of Edinburgh. He has discovered several new dinosaur species, authored best-selling books such as The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs, and has appeared in many documentaries about dinosaurs. A special appeal for MOR concludes the evening. It promises to sell out and be a dino-riffic night, so don’t miss out!

Inspiration Hall is in Norm Asbjornson Hall at the intersection of W. Grant and S. 7th. Avenue. Paid parking is available in the attached parking garage.

Over two days, 20 renowned paleontologists will present on topics ranging from trilobites to T. rex to fossil whales. Each presentation will be 30 minutes long with a Q and A, making it an informative and engaging experience for all attendees. The speaker's lecture dates and times are subject to change without notice.

Throughout the weekend, there will be multiple opportunities to get books signed, bid on paleontology theme collectibles, fossil casts, unique pieces of paleoart, and more!

We will be joined by children’s book author Anne Brusatte for a reading of her book Dugie the Dinosaur: Scotland’s Sauropod. Children will engage their senses in a variety of dinosaur activities and create some take-home art. The cost of materials is included in the workshop fee. Limited to 25 children.

Prehistoric Preschooler Playdate

Bring your preschool-aged child (3 - 5 years old) to join us for a morning of prehistoric dinosaur fun! Children’s author Anne Brusatte will read from her book Dugie the Dinosaur: Scotland’s Sauropod. Your preschooler will also have opportunities to dig for dinosaur fossils like a paleontologist, play dinosaur games, and create some take-home art. The cost of materials is included in the workshop fee. Limited to 25 children.

Dinosaur Puppet Workshop

Make your own scientifically accurate Triceratops head puppet out of specialized materials with TRX Dinosaurs owner Keegan Kuhn. Learn about his process of making a scientifically accurate puppet Triceratops and make your own to take home with you. The cost of materials is included in the workshop fee. Limited to 25 people.

Limit one art piece per age per category

Artists of all ages are invited to submit their best dinosaur-themed art for a chance to win special prizes and showcase their talent at Museum of the Rockies during Dinosaurs and MOR! Choose from categories such as ‘Most Scientifically Accurate,’ ‘Most Creative,’ and ‘Best Use of Materials’ in both 2D and 3D formats. You will be asked to select the age group that best describes you or your child: Pre-K - 1st grade, 2nd - 8th grade, 9th – 12th grade, Adult. No AI art.

A photo and description of the art must be uploaded by March 1 using the online submission form. Winners will be asked to mail or drop off their art pieces. Winners in each category will be recognized at the April 12 Member’s Appreciation Evening (travel at own expense) to receive special prizes.
