Interim Exhibit Manager
Brian was born and raised in the Appalachians of North Carolina, where he once rescued a Colombian boy from a raging mountain river. Brian discovered his love for art and design in little league, where he drew in the dirt because no one was strong enough to hit a ball to the outfield. His interest in paleontology began when a rogue babysitter showed him Jurassic Park at age three, which over the years matured into a deeper appreciation for extinct ecosystems and what they can teach us about the world today.
Brian moved to Bozeman in 2014 to attend Montana State University, where he studied Earth Sciences and Graphic Design. He has volunteered and worked in many positions at Museum of the Rockies, including the paleo-collections, prep lab, outreach, and exhibits. Brian’s love for exhibits stems from a passion for making science accessible and enjoyable to the public. He hopes to help make MOR a center for presenting natural and cultural history in an engaging and applicable way to the Bozeman community.
Fascinated by the tension and overlap of science and religion, Brian loves having conversations about the two and their implications for each other. He also has strong opinions about Star Wars, and tries to extend a Christ-like grace to those who are wrong about it. Brian spends his days with his wife and dog, exploring the trails of Bozeman, reading, and working with and speaking at Venture church. Their greatest hope is to help those in need and inspire those around them to have a better appreciation for their community and this world.
