Director of Finance
Jonathon serves as Director of Finance, where he oversees the museum’s financial operations, budgeting, reporting, internal controls, and long-term financial planning. He works closely with museum leadership and the Board of Trustees to support sound financial decision-making, organizational sustainability, and strategic growth.
Before building his career in finance, Jonathon spent more than two decades in elite figure skating. He competed internationally in ice dance for Great Britain, becoming a British senior ice dance champion and representing Great Britain at the World Championships and twice at the European Championships. After retiring from competition, he coached international-level athletes in the United Kingdom before moving to the United States, where he spent more than 15 years coaching Team USA athletes.
Jonathon later transitioned into finance, bringing with him the same focus on preparation, discipline, teamwork, and continuous improvement that shaped his career in elite sport. Before joining Museum of the Rockies, he worked for the City of Bozeman, where he focused on budgeting, financial analysis, forecasting, and long-range financial planning. His work included translating complex financial information into practical tools for decision-makers and supporting long-term capital and operational planning.
At Museum of the Rockies, Jonathon focuses on building clear and useful financial systems that help departments understand their resources and make informed decisions. His approach emphasizes transparency, collaboration, and connecting financial planning with the museum’s broader strategic goals.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Jonathon now calls Bozeman home. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and exploring Montana.
