Laurie moved to beautiful Bozeman five years ago from Las Vegas, Nevada. After visiting Montana State University during a college tour for her son, she immediately felt a connection to the area and knew she wanted to make it home. Just two months later, Laurie and her husband, along with their three children, packed up and made the move to Bozeman.
Laurie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology & Audiology from the University of Nevada, Reno. She spent several years working as a Speech Therapist in schools across both Nevada and Montana, where she supported students ranging in age from three to 21. While she found great fulfillment in helping students with their communication needs, Laurie was eager to transition her skills into the non-profit sector. She went on to serve as a Program Coordinator for the Montana World Affairs Council, where she planned events, coordinated conferences, and worked on fundraising efforts, all while bringing speakers to schools throughout the state.
In early 2025, Laurie joined the museum as the Fundraising and Special Events Manager. She is passionate about being part of the museum’s mission to foster community engagement and provide access to world-class exhibits and experiences.
Originally from California and Nevada, Laurie has also lived in Oregon and Tennessee. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling to new destinations, baking, and reading.
